Serata di apertura dell'edizione torinese di SOLOCOREOGRAFICO 2021 - Solo Dance Festival, da quest'anno all'interno della programmazione del Teatro Café Müller di Torino, SOLOCOREOGRAFICO FILM NIGHT è evento dedicato alla video-danza di assolo, che si articola in due ambiti: una sezione di video fino a 15 minuti, selezionati dalla direzione del Festival, e una sezione di video di 1 minuto,  curata in collaborazione con Associazione COORPI e che prevede l'assegnazione di un premio in denaro al miglior video proposto, la quale nasce come reazione alla situazione pandemica e in essa trova il suo filo conduttore tematico. Questa seconda sezione emana infatti dal desiderio e dalla volontà di tenere traccia e offrire al pubblico la panoramica di video realizzati da coreografi e danzatori della scena di Francoforte nel 2020, aventi come tema l’assolo danzato e selezionati dalla Direzione del Festival a seguito di un bando dedicato. Questi video sono la risposta all'impulso alla creazione in una forma di video-danza, personale, senza regia e occhio esterno, in una dimensione del tutto privata e sono capaci di restituire l'urgenza espressiva frustrata degli artisti privati del loro spazio di azione: la scena. Si tratta quindi di lavori sviluppati in completa solitudine che esplicitano l'aderenza, in una forma inusitata capace di proporre estetiche imprevedibili in associazione con lo strumento video, al bisogno di comunicare attraverso il corpo e la danza. Il progetto si sposa così perfettamente con la linea della Stagione Solo in Teatro del Café Müller.


Opening night of the Turin edition of SOLOCOREOGRAFICO Solo Dance Festival - Torino 2021 , starting this year within the programming of the Café Müller Theater in Turin, SOLOCOREOGRAFICO FILM NIGHT is an event dedicated to the solo video-dance, which is divided into two areas : a section of videos up to 15 minutes, selected by the artistic direction of the Festival, and a section of videos of 1 minute, curated by the artistic direction of the festival in collaboration with Associazione COORPI, which provides for the assignment of a cash prize to the best video proposed. These videos are the response to the impulse to create, in a form of video-dance, personal, in a completely private dimension and are capable of restoring the expressive urgency of artists deprived of their space of action: the stage. These are therefore works developed in complete solitude that express adherence, in an unusual form capable of proposing unpredictable aesthetics in association with the video tool, to the need to communicate through the body and dance. The project thus fits perfectly with the line of the Solo in Teatro program in the Café Müller Theatre. 

SOLOCOREOGRAFICO FILM NIGHT nasce al Gallus Theater di Francoforte nel 2020 come nuova sezione dedicata alla video danza all’interno del SOLOCOREOGRAFICO - Solo Dance Festival. La video danza é una forma d’arte autonoma affermatasi a metà degli anni ’90, della quale ricordiamo tra i più importanti artisti i DV8 Physical Theater con il film Enter Achilles, adattamento in video di un’opera danzata, e uno dei primi importanti festival ad essa dedicati, il Dance On Camera Festival di New York. Questa forma di espressione ha trovato un enorme impulso e sviluppo durante l’attuale crisi pandemica, come forma d’arte rifugio per l’arte coreutica. Raccogliendo questa massiva produzione e richiesta di video-danza, il festival SOLOCOREOGRAFICO ha creato quindi un nuova sezione per offrire una piattaforma alternativa a questa forma d’arte. A partire da questa edizione 2021, la serata viene realizzata in collaborazione con Associazione COORPI di Torino e il Teatro Café Müller di Torino.


WHY SOLOCOREOGRAFICO FILM NIGHT

SOLOCOREOGRAFICO FILM NIGHT was born at the Gallus Theater in Frankfurt in 2020 as a new section dedicated to video dance within the SOLOCOREOGRAFICO - Solo Dance Festival. Video dance is an autonomous art form that established itself in the mid-90s, of which we remember among the most important artists the DV8 Physical Theater with the film Enter Achilles, video adaptation of a dance work, and one of the first festival dedicated to it, the Dance On Camera Festival in New York. This form of expression has found enormous impetus and development during the current pandemic crisis, as a form of art refuge for the art of dance. Collecting this massive production and demand for video-dance, the SOLOCOREOGRAFICO festival has therefore created a new section to offer an alternative platform to this form of art. Starting from this 2021 edition, the evening will be organized in collaboration with the COORPI Association of Turin and the Café Müller Theater of Turin.
