The Newspaper Man was born in 2019 as part of an autobiographical work by its creator and interpreter, Alexandre Duarte. On stage an alter ego created to show the repressed and unconscious sides of the behavioral models imposed by the media and the conventions of the society in which we live. By giving life to a completely immersive atmosphere, the artist shows the emptiness behind the constant bombardment of information that we are all subjected to on a daily basis.
THE ARTIST'S UNIVERSE
The Newspaper Man is a projection of all subjective opinions, untold stories, real as well as fake content, compulsive news consumption, spoken and written words that actually say nothing. The goal of the show is to ensure that the viewer is not limited to simply watching the show from the outside, but is immersed in it together with Alex. All this is achieved with the fusion of several different disciplines, all brought to their highest technical level: dance and circus arts are mixed with other artistic languages in order to make the public perceive that the contamination between arts becomes in turn a new artistic form. It's unique.
