The Newspaper Man nasce nel 2019 come parte di un lavoro autobiografico del suo creatore e interprete, Alexandre Duarte. In scena un alter ego realizzato per mostrare i lati repressi e inconsci dei modelli comportamentali imposti dai media e delle convenzioni della società nella quale viviamo. Dando vita a un’atmosfera completamente immersiva, l’artista mostra il vuoto che c’è dietro il costante bombardamento di informazioni cui tutti siamo sottoposti quotidianamente.

The Newspaper Man è una proiezione di tutte le opinioni soggettive, le storie non raccontate, i contenuti reali così come quelli falsi, il consumo compulsivo di notizie, le parole dette e scritte che in realtà non dicono nulla. L’obiettivo dello show è far sì che lo spettatore non si limiti semplicemente a guardare lo spettacolo dall’esterno, ma ci si immerga assieme ad Alex. Tutto ciò viene raggiunto con la fusione di più discipline differenti, tutte portate al loro massimo livello tecnico: danza e arti circensi si mescolano con altri linguaggi artistici al fine di far percepire al pubblico che la contaminazione fra arti diventa a sua volta una forma artistica nuova e unica.

The Newspaper Man was born in 2019 as part of an autobiographical work by its creator and interpreter, Alexandre Duarte. The Newspaper Man is a projection of all subjective opinions, untold stories, real as well as fake content, compulsive news consumption, spoken and written words that actually say nothing. The goal of the show is to ensure that the viewer is not limited to simply watching the show from the outside, but is immersed in it together with Alex. All this is achieved with the fusion of several different disciplines, all brought to their highest technical level: dance and circus arts are mixed with other artistic languages ​​in order to make the public perceive that the contamination between arts becomes in turn a new artistic form.
